What types of hemorrhoids do women easily suffer from before and after delivery?

Of anal diseases during pregnancy or after delivery, 95% or more is hemorrhoids (piles).

The types of hemorrhoids which pregnant women are likely to suffer differ between before and after delivery.

While women before delivery tend to have hemorrhoids (piles), it has been revealed that anal fissure is likely to develop after delivery in addition to hemorrhoids (piles)1, 2)

There is also the result of an overseas survey that hemorrhoids (piles) account for as many as 95% or more among anal diseases that occur in women during pregnancy or the postpartum period (a period when the body of a woman after delivery returns to the state before pregnancy) (reference: Graph)1). According to a survey in Japan, hemorrhoids (piles) account for 51%–68% of anal diseases3). It can be said that hemorrhoids (piles) are a disease with a much higher incidence among anal diseases that women suffer from during pregnancy and after delivery.
